Introducing the PING S159 Wedges, their most versatile wedge line yet, with the addition of two grinds and new loft options. These enhancements significantly elevate Wedge performance and provide a wider range of fitting choices. Developed through rigorous testing with PING tour players, these S159 Wedges are designed to appeal to golfers of all skill levels
Crafted from 8620 carbon steel, the S159 head boasts an eye-pleasing shape with a more-square lead edge, particularly beneficial for full shots. An elastomer insert behind the face ensures a soft and responsive feel upon impact. The compact head design incorporates an improved hosel transition with constant offset, seamlessly blending into the new Blueprint S and T irons at address.
Wheel-cut grooves, precision-milled to varying dimensions based on loft, enhance performance. Wedges ranging from 54 to 62 degrees feature tightly spaced MicroMax grooves, while those from 46 to 52 degrees have a 20-degree sidewall, maximizing groove volume for enhanced control on full shots. Coupled with the friction-adding face blast, the s159 wedges offer superior launch and spin control, enabling golfers to execute score-lowering wedge shots from any distance.
The tour-inspired 8620 carbon steel head features a soft feel and clean shape with a straighter lead edge for improved results on full shots. Two performance-enhancing finishes (Hybropearl 2.0 Chrome and Midnight) are available in all loft/grind combinations.
Wheel-cut grooves are precision-milled to varying dimensions, depending on loft. The 46-to-52-degree wedges are milled to maximise groove volume for greater control on full shots. The 54-to-62-degree options feature more tightly spaced MicroMax grooves to impart more spin, especially around the greens.
In combination with the friction-adding face blast, precision-milled grooves deliver the launch and spin control to play score-lowering shots from every distance.
