The New Titleist TSR Drivers - Everything They Have To Offer

Titleist is known for designing some of the best drivers in the world that offer a fantastic blend of power, distance and control off the tee, and a huge number of professional golfers clearly love these attributes.

The success of the TS series has been massive since they first launched in 2018 with the “Titleist Speed” drivers that were designed to deliver faster ball speed and higher launch while offering greater forgiveness with every shot. This was achieved with innovative design choices such as using a lightweight construction, creating a much more streamlined shape to reduce drag and a thinner yet faster face.

Soon after this Titleist released the TSi1 and TSi4 options to appeal to a wider range of players thanks to the TSi1 being one of the most forgiving drivers on the market. When the TSi2 and Tsi3 drivers were launched they quickly became two of the most popular golf drivers on the market and were also become some of the most successful drivers with PGA pros.

There are currently over 100 players in the PGA Tour that use Titleist Drivers, and while this is an amazing statistic there is one that clearly shows the prowess of the designs of the TS and TSi golf clubs. The three major winners of 2022, Justin Thomas with the PGA Championship, Matt Fitzpatrick with the US Open and Cameron Smith with the 150th Open all used Titleist Drivers.

With results like that, it shows the power and performance that these clubs provide, but now Titleist has announced a new range of Drivers that boasts the features of being Faster. Longer. Straighter.

Titleist has taken the design of the TSi and slimmed it down while adding plenty of new features to ensure you are able to generate the maximum speed and distance with incredible ease.

The first step in making this golf club as fast as possible was with the reshaping of the club head with a new aerodynamic system. All of the drivers in the TSR range use a new “boat tail” shape that allows this club to cut through the air faster and reduces the amount of drag that is created on a downswing. This shape also features a redesign in the toe shape to improve the angle that the club face meets the ball when connecting.

So that the speed that is generated on the downswing is enhanced even further, Titleist has designed this driver to use a “Multi-Plateau VFT face” for even more speed to be transferred into the golf ball.

This clubface features multiple layers that have been built inwards to create a face that can create explosive speeds consistently off the tee. However, one of the brilliant features of using this multi-layer construction is that you can easily generate the same fastball speed anywhere across the face. So if you accidentally play your shot higher up or lower on the club face there is little risk of losing the power and distance that would have been created from hitting the centre of the club.

Because of the success of the TSi3, Titleist had a hard job ahead of them trying to find a way to improve it, and that is exactly what they have managed to do.

To make sure that the shape of the TSi3, which was a favourite amongst many Tour players, was maintained subtle adjustments were made without affecting the overall looking of the club to provide for improved aerodynamic performance so that it can cut through the air even faster with less resistance.

Fine-tuned for speed and distance.

Unlike the TSR2 and TSR4, this driver uses a different club face which has been called the Speed Ring VFT Face. By using a “Speed Ring” design Titleist has been able to focus on maximising the relationship CT/COR relationship into the sweet spot of the club so that when you play a shot off the centre of the club you can experience even more explosive speeds.

Titleist TSR4 Golf Driver

The TSR4 shares many design points with the TSR2 such as the same “boat tail” shape and the Variable Face Thickness club face, but it also features several other design points to make this “The Ultimate Low-Spin Driver”.

To allow golfers to have much more control over how much spin they feel comfortable playing with, Titleist has included two adjustable weighing options in the club head. If you are looking for the maximum amount of spin reduction on your shots, a heavier weight can be placed towards the front of the driver. For performance that is similar to the TSR 3, you can move the weight at the back of the club for lower spin reduction.

This design means that you are able to use a driver that offers incredible driving distance while having a perfect balance of low spin and forgiveness.
