The Ping i540 irons are engineered for golfers who want the look and feel of a players iron while gaining the added speed, distance and forgiveness of modern players-distance technology. Designed with innovative materials and advanced internal engineering, the i540 delivers powerful ball speeds, higher launch and the stopping power needed to attack the flag with confidence.
By combining a thinner maraging-steel face, tungsten weighting and advanced internal structures, Ping has created an iron that provides impressive distance while maintaining the control and feel better players demand.
The i540 irons are built to generate more ball speed and distance without sacrificing control. Weight savings from a lighter and shallower face design allow additional tungsten weighting to be positioned strategically inside the clubhead. This lowers the centre of gravity in the 4 to 7 irons, helping golfers achieve faster ball speeds, higher launch and greater stopping power on approach shots.
The forged, variable-thickness maraging-steel face in the i540 irons is approximately 9% thinner, allowing it to flex more efficiently at impact. This increased flex creates a metal-wood-like bending effect across the sole and top line transition areas, generating faster ball speeds, greater distance and a higher peak trajectory.
Ping's patent-pending inR-Air Technology introduces an internal airbag placed strategically behind the face inside the cavity. This system helps filter unwanted vibrations and optimise sound and feel at impact without restricting face flex. The TPU insert used within the technology has been extensively tested in a wide range of conditions to ensure consistent performance and durability.
The i540 irons also feature new i-Beam Technology, which adds structural support to the 17-4 stainless steel body. A beam runs across the cavity to reinforce the clubhead, enhancing sound and feel while maintaining the powerful metal-wood-style construction that helps maximise ball speed.

| Loft Option | Description | Ideal For |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Loft | Traditional loft setup providing consistent distance and trajectory across the entire iron set, suitable for most golfers. | Golfers seeking a balanced approach for both accuracy and launch angle. |
| PWR Spec Loft | Stronger lofts designed to maximise ball speed and distance, ideal for players with higher swing speeds who want more carry and a more aggressive launch. | Golfers with higher swing speeds looking to achieve greater distance while maintaining control. |
| Retro Spec Loft | Traditional loft setup with weaker lofts to achieve a higher ball flight and more controlled distances. Ideal for golfers looking for a classic feel and more manageable launch. | Golfers seeking a more traditional feel with a focus on higher ball flights and consistent distances. |
