The TaylorMade Spider ZT Max Counterbalance Putter combines the ultrahigh-MOI stability of the Spider ZT Max platform with a longer, counterbalanced construction designed to promote a smoother and more controlled putting stroke. By moving additional weight higher into the grip end of the club, this premium mallet helps reduce tension in the hands and quieten unwanted wrist and forearm movement.

A heavier 398g head, 155g KBS Custom Graphite shaft and elongated SuperStroke grip work together to create a stable overall balance. Combined with a toe-up orientation, four strategically positioned corner weights, Milled True Path alignment and a black Pure Roll insert, the Spider ZT Max Counterbalance is engineered to deliver repeatable face control, dependable pace and greater confidence on the greens.

COUNTERBALANCED PERFORMANCE

The longer shaft and extended SuperStroke grip move the overall balance point higher towards the golfer's hands. This counterbalanced setup can help reduce grip pressure and limit excessive movement from the smaller muscles in the hands and forearms.

By encouraging the shoulders and larger muscle groups to control the motion, the putter can feel smoother and less likely to be manipulated during the stroke. The result is a stable, pendulum-like action that is particularly valuable when maintaining rhythm under pressure.

The Spider ZT Max Counterbalance takes TaylorMade's Spider Stability platform and combines it with a heavier head and longer build. Four steel and tungsten corner weights frame a low-density aerospace-grade aluminium body, moving mass towards the outer limits of the putter.

This extreme perimeter weighting increases resistance to twisting and helps the face maintain its intended position throughout the stroke. Golfers benefit from improved stability on off-centre strikes, more consistent starting direction and greater control over pace.

ULTRAHIGH MOI CONSTRUCTION

The lightweight aluminium body allows TaylorMade engineers to position a greater proportion of the head's mass around its perimeter. Steel and tungsten weights in each corner create an ultrahigh moment of inertia, helping the putter remain stable as it moves back and through.

With a heavier 398g head specifically calibrated for the counterbalanced configuration, the Spider ZT Max delivers a reassuring presence without feeling uncontrolled or difficult to swing.

TOE-UP BALANCE

The Spider ZT Max Counterbalance features a toe-up orientation designed to reduce unwanted face rotation. The shaft enters the head in a toe-ward position close to the centre of gravity, supporting a more stable relationship between the face and the natural path of the stroke.

This low-torque design can help golfers who prefer a neutral motion and want the putter face to remain closer to square rather than opening and closing excessively.

KBS CUSTOM GRAPHITE SHAFT

A 155g KBS Custom Graphite shaft has been selected specifically for the counterbalanced design. Its additional weight works alongside the heavier head and extended grip to optimise swing weight while supporting the higher overall balance point.

The shaft bores directly into the head near the centre of gravity and incorporates 2° of forward shaft lean with 34mm of onset behind the face. This geometry contributes to the ultrastable toe-up orientation and helps the putter return consistently to impact.

FORGED ALUMINIUM SOLE PLATE

The forged aluminium sole plate features subtle camber behind the centre of gravity, allowing the larger head to rest naturally against the putting surface.

A stable sole position makes it easier to establish a consistent address posture while helping prevent the face from appearing open or closed before the stroke begins. This supports more accurate alignment and repeatable setup fundamentals.

TSS PRECISION WEIGHTING

Three TSS weights are used to fine-tune swing weight and optimise the toe-up orientation of the Spider ZT Max Counterbalance. The weighting is carefully matched to the longer shaft, heavier head and extended grip configuration.

This precision balancing helps both available lengths deliver a controlled feel, allowing golfers to select the setup that best suits their posture and preferred level of counterbalance.

BLACK PURE ROLL INSERT

The black Pure Roll insert combines Surlyn and aluminium to create a soft but responsive impact sensation. Its construction helps produce a controlled sound while still providing useful feedback across the face.

Grooves positioned at 45° encourage efficient forward roll immediately after impact. Reducing initial skid can improve pace consistency and help the ball remain closer to its intended starting line.

MILLED TRUE PATH ALIGNMENT

Milled True Path alignment provides a precise visual reference across the top of the putter. The milled lines are designed to match the width of a golf ball, making it easier to centre the ball against the face and identify the intended impact position.

This structured alignment system complements the wide Spider ZT Max head and helps golfers establish a clear relationship between the ball, face and target line without introducing unnecessary visual distraction.
