TaylorMade US Open Major Commemorative Staff Tour Golf Bag
With the return of the US Open Major to the northeast of America in 2022 at the Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts, TaylorMade has designed a Staff Tour golf bag to commemorate the rich history that ties the local area with the history of America.
Looking at this golf bag golfers with notice the unique tea stained finish that has been chosen for the main colouring in the design. This design choice was chosen to represent the Boston tea Party who helped to inspire the Revolutionary War, with more than 300 chests of British tea that were dumped into the Boston Harbor in the winter of 1773.
On the upper of this golf bag you will be able to see the date “April 18, 1775” scripted into the design. This is a reference to the night that Paul Revere left Boston on horseback to signal that the “Redcoats are coming”. Also, features on this tour golf bag are two lanterns, another reference to Paul Revere as he was told to signal with one if by land and two if by sea. Both lanterns he carried to signal his fellow Americans are illustrated on the valuables pouch. Following the historical timeline, the ball pouch was inspired by the uniforms worn by American patriots during the ensuing Revolutionary War.
To mark the occasion of the US Open returning to the Country Club, TaylorMade has added venue inspired features including the number “246” in the upper pocket as a nod to the 1913 champion, Francis Ouimet, who lived on the 17th hole at 246 Clyde Street. The house still stands to this day, with the championship returning to the historic country club for the fourth time.
The rivets are made from brushed bronze and have subtly placed TaylorMade logos. A hard wearing medallion and bricks around the base pay homage to the Freedom Trail, marked by 16 historical locations throughout Boston. While the frosty beer glass is a nod to one of the region’smost recognizable breweries.
