Jacques is currently the Head Golf Professional at our sister company's golf course, The Weald of Kent located on the outskirts of Maidstone, Kent

A native of South Africa, Jacques first came to the UK some 10 years ago to further his career as a Golf Professional

'I started playing golf when I was 13 years of age and achieved a scratch handicap within four years. I enjoyed a very successful amateur career and turned professional in 1992. Since that time I have managed to play golf in many countries around the world.

My knowledge of the game helps me in my role as a teacher and makes it easy for me to translate information to the pupil, and I have been teaching now for over twelve years, two back home in in South Africa and ten years as a Professional based in the UK.

Teaching golfers of all abilities is my biggest challenge and I still enjoy seeing a novice golfer hit their first couple of decent shots.

My teaching is directly dependant on the golfer’s goals, learning style, physical capabilities, dedication and practice time available. I cater my teaching style to fit the person’s individuality and needs.

Fundamentals (grip, stance, posture) are an important part of my instruction as I firmly believe the golfer needs to understand the basic concepts of golf (i.e. how the ball gets in the air) before rushing into details.'
